Philosophy

Parenting is hard!

Being a parent is hard work; we have to be flexible enough to let our child experience life in their own way, but firm enough to guide them when they need it. At times it feels impossible to find the right balance and no one gets it right all the time. We all have regrets but we also have successful moments - times we got it right.

Been there, done that.

We encourage you to tell us about your successful moments, the times you got it right. We guarantee there's someone else who will face the same problems you've faced and your advice might help them handle the situation.

Or maybe you're having a problem you don't know how to handle. We hope you'll find advice here that helps you handle the situation.

It takes all kinds.

The world is filled with many interesting people. We're not going to all agree with each other about how to raise a child. If this site is successful (and gets lots of advice posted) you'll see advice here that you disagree with. We encourage you to write your own advice with an alternate method of dealing with the situation. Please don't criticize someone else's advice.
